The one legal platform
On August 31, 2026, the Government of Saskatchewan stated that PlayNow.com, operated by SIGA, remains the only legal online gaming platform in the province. It launched on November 3, 2022, as the province's first legal, regulated online gaming platform. Players must be 19 or older; under The Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act, 1997, anyone under 19 is a minor.
The groundwork came in September 2021, when the Gaming Framework Agreement was amended. The change let SIGA offer an online platform with electronic casino games and single event sports betting to Saskatchewan residents. At launch, SaskGaming managed PlayNow.com, SIGA operated it and SLGA regulated it. It was built on the British Columbia Lottery Corporation's PlayNow.com platform. Management of online gaming has since moved from SaskGaming to LGS.
Exclusivity has a date attached. On August 31, 2026, the province and FSIN announced that SIGA's online gaming exclusivity is extended to September 2029. Residence counts as well: SLGA's internet gaming standard requires the operator to refuse registration to anyone whose residence is outside Saskatchewan.
Everything else online
The province does not soften its wording about the rest. On August 31, 2026, it said PlayNow has been steadily growing in profitability "despite heavy competition from illegal platforms". At the 2022 launch, SaskGaming's CEO called PlayNow.com "a legal, regulated alternative to grey market and illegal gambling sites currently operating in the province".
SLGA's FAQ sets out the rule behind this. Under the Criminal Code of Canada, all gaming is illegal unless it is licensed or operated by a government.
Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw offer gaming only at their physical locations, with no mobile app and no online gaming. They warn that falsified social media ads for online platforms using their names are a scam. Both name playnow.com as Saskatchewan's only legal gaming website. SIGA casino sites carry a line of their own: PlayNow.com is the only legal gambling site whose profits go back to Saskatchewan.
Limits, breaks and self-exclusion
PlayNow.com in Saskatchewan offers pop-up reminders of time and money spent, play breaks and self-exclusions. It also shows problem gambling referral information.
Game Break, SaskGaming's voluntary and confidential self-exclusion, covers all casinos in the province and PlayNow.com. It runs for 6 months to 5 years. Enrolment happens through Customer Service or Security at a casino, or by appointment with GameSense staff at 306-787-2122. SIGA's own program covers the nine casinos, and neither program lists private online casinos. The Saskatchewan Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-306-6789, is free, confidential and open 24 hours.
About the ad on the home page
Paid links appear only on this site's home page, three times, each marked Ad. One sits in the menu, one in a block just below the first screen and one near the end of the page. All three lead to the same online casino partner. It is a private online casino, not run or licensed by the province and not connected with any Saskatchewan casino or gaming body.
This site earns a commission, and the partner can change. Inner pages carry no paid links, and this page has none.
